How you can help

There are many ways you can help, some of which are listed below, and if you can think of other ways then please do tell us.


How you can help - 1
Open Days  - usually the 2nd weekend in September – a significant fundraising event



We would welcome volunteers for:
am
pm
either
both
Greeting visitors as they arrive
Sales of cards
Working on the stalls
Serving refreshments
Helping with children's art activities
Setting up in the morning from about 9.30am
Tidying away afterwards from about 4.30 p.m
 

 


Donations
We welcome donations (in good condition) for our

  1. book and video / DVD / CD stall
  2. tombola
  3. plant stall

and contributions for our

  1. home produce stall
  2. refreshment stall

We welcome ideas for anything else we can do for our Open Days
* Please note that we have neither running water nor electricity in the church.
* Please alert us in advance of any donations or contributions so that we can arrange collection
or delivery – many thanks.
 

Working weekends
We welcome volunteers for our occasional working weekends, various physical tasks in the church and the churchyard e.g. pointing walls, lime washing

Donations would be appreciated towards the following work in the church: (estimated costs as of 2010)

 

New windowsill stonework for the south-west window... £1,600
New stonework for the vestry windows... £3,000
New glazing for the vestry windows... £800
New stonework for vestry door surround... £3,000
New subframe and repairs to vestry door... £1,000
New subframe and repairs to chancel south door... £1,000
Chains and hangers (for eight nave and chancel chandeliers)... £640
Envelopes and postage for one newsletter... £130

If you are a tax payer and you give a donation to us we can reclaim tax on it from the government.  This means that your donation is increased without it costing you an extra penny! If you are in this position please take a minute or two to complete the gift aid form attached and help us to raise even more funds for the church restoration.
